Cybersixgill at Black Hat: What’s Different this Year

In less than two weeks, I’m heading to Black Hat in Las Vegas with Team Cybersixgill – and I’m beyond excited! This year, we’re approaching things differently. Here’s how:

  1. No sales pitch. Instead, we’re hosting a suite at the Four Seasons Hotel that we are transforming into a Dark Lab - away from the hustle and bustle of the trade show floor. Our team of CTI pros will be available to spend one-on-one time with you, free from the many distractions on the conference floor.

This is an important change for us – and for you – because we want to provide a more practical experience with Cybersixgill’s CTI solutions, answer your critical questions, and essentially help you in the areas you need.

  1. No demos. Instead, we’re running Capture the Flag challenges that allow security practitioners to try out and train with our tools. We’re hosting the Dark Lab as a hands-on threat hunting experience, challenging both newcomers and experienced threat hunters to explore REAL and active threats.

You will have the opportunity to use Cybersixgill's investigative Portal to navigate the sources where threat actors plan, hunt, and profit. Afterwards, you'll understand how to proactively hunt threats and better defend your organization.

Participating in our Dark Lab challenges will help you:

  • Understand what to do in specific situations, given your role in your organization
  • See and learn how threat actors think and move
  • Better and more rapidly learn through role-play rather than real-life crisis situations

And, for each challenge completed, participants will receive a raffle ticket for a trip for two to South Africa, including a shark cage diving experience and tour to Gansbaai to visit the penguins. The package includes private transfers, five nights of five-star accommodation in Cape Town, a $2500USD per person flight credit and $500USD spending money. This is truly an opportunity not to be missed!

  1. No booth babes. Instead, our team of experts will be on the conference floor to answer questions and personally invite you to our Dark Lab. As a bonus, Chris Roberts, a.k.a Dr. Dark Web, and I will be streaming a live Dr. Dark Web podcast for you to tune into.

We’re doing this because we want to give you something meaningful, not push unwanted attention your way.

To join us at the Cybersixgill Dark Lab, follow these three steps:

  1. Complete the online form to register and book your time slot
  2. Visit our Dark Lab and start your 30-minute threat hunting mission
  3. Receive a ticket to enter our free prize draw for every challenge correctly completed within your time slot

Our Dark Lab challenges consist of real-life threat hunting examples, including credit card fraud, compromised access, zero day exploits, leaked credentials, threat actor analysis and much more. Put your skills to the test and join the hunt at Black Hat this August.

If you would like to arrange a meeting at Black Hat Las Vegas for a demonstration with one of our threat intelligence experts please contact us or click here to register for the Dark Lab Challenge.

See you in the Dark!
